Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research (ISC), located in Wuerzburg, one out of 67 institutes and establishments of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft e. V., the largest European institution for applied research (2014: 2.06 billion € budget, more than 1.5 billion generated by contract research, 23.800 employees). Fraunhofer ISC employs more than 370 people (predominantly scientists and engineers). Area of business: Applied R&D on inorganic and hybrid materials (glass, ceramics, hybrid polymers) and technology, e. g. for coatings and powders, including production technology up to a semi-industrial scale and characterisation. Involved in around 220 research projects and more than 800 small contracts in 2016. The project will be dealt with in the Center for Applied Electrochemistry, whose qualified staff has long-term experience in contract research and is highly competent for carrying out complex RTD tasks in the field. There is a solid >10 year track record in projects on EC device development.
